"We brought Teach Speech teletherapy services to the School District of Auburndale for the
2023-24 school year and we have NO regrets about it!!! I spent my entire summer leading up to
this school year researching and grilling every teletherapy option that was brought to my
attention as we searched for a solution to our Speech/Language Pathologist shortage.
From the very first conversation with Teach Speech, I felt that my needs were thoroughly
understood and an immense amount of grace was given to me when I expressed that I didn’t
know what I didn’t know when it came to the inner workings of setting up a virtual service. It was a hard mental transition with my staff and some of the families, the idea of “virtual speech”
because they had such a negative experience with virtual “school” during the COVID-19
Pandemic. However, after the first quarter with Teach Speech, I was already hearing from many
that “those virtual speech people were amazing!” and raved about the students’ progress that
was already evident.
The therapists worked closely with me while we were leading up to that first day of school to get
the caseloads determined, to introduce and get to know the therapist(s) that were assigned to
my school and to work with our speech paraprofessional to determine the best service plan and
delivery model for each of my students. I will forever be grateful to the Teach Speech staff for
letting me know exactly what was needed on their end, as well as frequently checking in about
what we needed on our end, to ensure that the teachers, the families, and the students were
comfortable with the virtual setting.
Communications with all team members and any changes to services were given with ample
time to process and the paperwork was completed within a quick turnaround time. I was
continuously impressed with the different strategies and intervention ideas that the SLPs were
using to help problem-solve. I was also pleasantly surprised each time by the willingness to
increase services if new needs were brought to light.
I will continue to sing the praises of all of the SLPs at Teach Speech as we endure the
significant absence of available SLPs or to anyone who needs to get creative with their service
delivery methods. I have met many of the SLPs through Teach Speech and there hasn’t been
one that hasn’t impressed me!

"Teach Speech has been fabulous to work with. All of our students adore their SLPs and love coming to speech! Erica is super positive, personable, and engaging. She is flexible and adaptable with anything from scheduling conflicts, challenging behaviors, technological obstacles, and beyond. Linda is very thorough and organized and does a good job communicating with teachers and parents. Her students work hard and have lots of fun when they're in session with her.
It's obvious that the SLPs at Teach Speech are passionate about what they do and that they bring a level of expertise and experience to their practice that is hard to find these days. All of our students leave the Speech Room with a huge smile on their faces! "
